Zoo Zoo started life back in November 2009 when new Camden venue the Blues Kitchen opened its doors for business. This large venue on Camden High Street has famous Blues and R&B artists adorned around the walls of the venue and you can even listen to the Blues while you refresh yourself in the toilet. It also has a wide selection of the Blues artist’s favourite Soul food, beers and bourbons on the menu.
New Untouchables night always features two R&B/Blues/Garage/Soul or Rock n Roll bands from the London area and sometimes beyond. One of our favourite shows to date was with Spanish band The Faithkeepers and you can see a clip below from that show. Other artists have included King Salami & Thee Cumberland 3, Jess Roberts, DC Fontana, Thee Vicars, The Draytones, Peppermint Beat Band, New Street Adventure, The Shoestrung, Lewis Floyd Henry, The Burning Condors, Stone Foundation, The Frowning Clouds, Prime Movers, Big Boss Man, The Faith Keepers, and DC Fontana, to name just a few.
After the bands grab a space on the dancefloor and do the Shimmy, Skate or Twist when DJ Dr Robert and special guest take over the turntables and spin 100% pure vinyl right through until 3am with all the above genres covered from big hits to obscure scene classics.
