First release on Glasgow label EWO features another talented young band from Sweden called Teaspoon, with two fantastic slices of psychedelic pop. ‘Dream Girl’ bounces along nicely, with phased guitar and vocals perfect for the dancefloor, and in the ‘Lovemaker’ or ‘Cardboard Watch’ vein. The flipside, ‘Anthony’s Song’, is a faster-paced number with groovy organ riffs and funky rhythm guitar, interspersed with bursts of lead guitar and trippy vocal echo effects. A great first release from the band and the label. More of this please!
