First thing I noticed on unwrapping this one was the total absence of ANY tracks
that I already owned or had even heard of.
All the previous volumes, although full of real obscure stuff for sure,at least contained a few familiar names
e.g. Tages,Marmalade,The twilights etc.
As a real lover of compilations of this type - rare 45s from the 60s and early 70s,I'm always interested
to discover new stuff but I sometimes get a little jaded thinking that all the best stuff has been comped
already, when along comes this little ripper!
Never seen any of these tunes before and guess what - they're really good!
Beat and Pop Psych from Belgium and Holland, storming garage fuzz monsters from the U.S,
throw in some funky sunshine pop stylings and a dash of northern soul flavour
and you get this QUALITY compilation.
There are some killer tunes on this one,I think this is the best volume so far.
Fans of Rubble style compilations looking to expand their collections to more international sounds
as well as anyone who likes a groovy dance beat should find much to discover here.
NICE ONE ROB!

It took a while for volume 5 of this great series to come out and it took a while and this cd was not as
easy to get over here in the us as the first 4 volumes where but at last I HAVE IT!!!! WOW this may
be the best volume yet, some of the tracks here go a bit well into the 70s but by listeining to them I
would never know it, they all sound like they are straight out of london 1965/66, great fuzzed out guitar
on a lot of these old songs and just in general a great collection of really good obscure killer mod and
soul tracks, some of these artists I had never heard of before, rob is one lucky guy to own all these 45s
that is what makes this series so great, they are all very well remastered and put on cd for us, there is
not a bad song on here I promise that if you are a fan of 60s mod or psyche or garage rock.
