The Action Live DVD – In the Lap of The Mods

A small run of this film came out in 2000 on VHS video format originally and is now as rare as some of the bands original records.

The last copies were sold over a decade ago and it’s been crying out for a DVD release.

With the amazing book of the same name by Jane Sheppard & Ian Hebditch getting rave reviews and the last of the Action recordings on vinyl and CD available from Circle Records the DVD completes a trilogy of all things Action.

The film takes a fascinating look behind the scene to meet all of the band members who are interviewed in a mad Mod house down in South London.

An exclusive interview with executive producer Phil Collins who is arguably the bands biggest fan and used to clean the Marquee Club before it opened in order to watch his heroes take to the stage. Phil believe it or not was a young Mod who idolised Roger Powell’s drumming style and fashion sense before he took the drum stool with Genesis. He did eventually take to the stage with them at 100 Club and play drums with his heroes.

Other interviews with well known Mod’s about town and fans of the band past and present.

Rare archive footage plus live performances from the New Untouchables reformation shows at the Dome and 100 Club in London where the passion and unique relationship that the band have always enjoyed with its audience are in evidence.

The film is Approx: 75 mins and a lasting tribute to the ultimate Action.
